Make Great Cake

Make Great Cake

A member of my staff, Mr. Jeremy Peterson gave an analogy of how our technique improves and how we as people improve too. It’s perfect.

To make cake, you need ingredients. Such as eggs, flour, sugar, milk, butter, baking powder and probably some flavoring like vanilla extract. Everything has to be in exact measurements too. Too much sugar or too little baking powder and it's ruined.

If you have all the ingredients in the right amounts, you do not have cake. If you mix it all together, you do not have cake. If you put in the cooking pans, you do not have cake. If you put it in the oven, you do not have cake. If you take it out of the oven, you still don’t have cake. You have to turn on the oven and apply heat. Once you apply heat and take it out, you still don’t have cake unless you left it in there long enough at the right temperature.

Cake, like anything, takes 3 things:

  1. time,
  2. heat (energy/effort)
  3. and the right ingredients (proper technique).

Some people get in a hurry and don’t give it enough time. Some don’t apply enough energy and some don’t perfect their technique. Be conscientious and make great cake.
